Wildlife Activity Club GroupsWildlife Activities For All

Looking for an after school activity club with a difference for your children? We provide something that could bring out the Wild Child in them!

We cater for age groups ranging from 5 to 14 years. With our Young Explorers and Rangers groups and a Mentor scheme for young people, we can ensure that whatever the age group the sessions are designed around activities that are just right for them to learn whilst having fun.

Young Explorers

Our Young Explorer groups are for children aged between 5 and 7 years.

Their sessions are a mixture of fun and education based upon the ethos of Forest School and experiential play and learning. With themed animal, wildlife and nature activities, the children will follow our own accredited badge scheme.  The Young Explorers program is more heavily play based and combines outdoor learning with fun, physical games and crafts. The weekly activity programme will follow our unique topics built around our badge scheme. So if your child loves animals, wildlife, nature, exploring the outside world and learning new skills, then please contact us to register your interest and arrange a Free Trial session!

Each session lasts for 1 hour

Our Rangers groups are for children aged between 8 and 14 years. These sessions will follow a more detailed accredited badge programme building confidence, interaction with peers and social skills. Forest School is at the heart and this group has just as much fun as the Young Explorers however there is more detail in the educational badge objectives according to their age and abilities. There are opportunities to learn about animals and wildlife whilst having fun. We include ranger skills, bushcraft, forest adventure, animal handling, animal care, horticulture, art, conservation and basic zoology! So if your child loves animals, wildlife, nature, exploring the outside world and learning new skills, then please contact us to register your interest and arrange a Free Trial session!

Each session lasts for 1½ hours

At the age of 12  to 13 years the young people have the option to move onto our Mentor program which is a fantastic opportunity for the young person to develop further skills, increase their confidence and leadership skills and gain experience in supporting and working with the younger children in our club groups. This is a fee paying program (for at least one club group/venue per week at the Ranger fee cost) where we will train and support the young person in various areas of mentorship. They in turn will be supported and mentored by the relevant club group leader that they are working with and will have extended opportunities and responsibilities to assist our club leaders with the program. As they develop and gain confidence, they will have the options to lead various activities under supervision. For the one club group fee, the mentors are encouraged to support both the Young Explorer and Ranger club groups and can also optionally support other club venues during the week at no further cost to support their learning and experience. (Please call the office to discuss your interest for a mentor to support other club venues).

Existing mentors that are members of the clubs are also encouraged and welcomed to support our holiday club programs under supervision of a group leader (at no further cost). There will be a quarterly mentor session run on a weekend at our centre to introduce various areas of mentoring for all young people joining the program. Dates to be advised to the mentors.

Volunteer Young Leaders

At the age of 14 years there is an opportunity for the Rangers to step up to become an official part of our volunteering team as a young leader at the clubs and holiday clubs and extended options to assist community events.

Annual Contribution

Young Explorers and Rangers get plenty of on-going benefits of our exclusive after school clubs including priority booking and discounts to holiday clubs and animal encounter parties. To support our costs for insurance and administration and to keep other costs down, we ask parents for an annual contribution of just £10 at the beginning of each school year.

Half Term and Holiday Clubs

Every half-term or school holiday period we offer all-day clubs  involving physical and educational games and activities. We ADO Academyquite often partner with some special guests to provide additional activities including Archery, Birds of Prey, and Animal Visits. Our holiday clubs cover a multitude of subjects including mini-beasts, reptiles, mammals, bushcraft and forest adventure. As club members, your children benefit from priority booking over the general public and discounts.

The Wildlife Activity Club and Holiday Clubs are part of our ADO Academy and run by Kylanja Ltd T/A Animal Days Out - In partnership with Animal Days Out C.I.C. - A Not For Profit Community Interest Company
